Rules
Strikes System (replaces old server rules)
- 3 strikes and you’re banned for the season
- Strikes reset at the beginning of the season
- Different offenses give a different number of strikes
- 2-strike offenses also result in a week-long temporary ban
- Some offenses result in a permanent ban
- Strikes can be removed and punishments reduced through appeals
1-strike offenses ❌
- Minor griefing
- Minor harassment
- Minor swearing in text chat
- Duping of non-valuable items
- Intentionally lagging the server
- Spamming chat
- Advertising
2-strike offenses ❌❌
- Cheating
- Moderate or Major swearing in text chat
- Moderate harassment
- Duping of valuable items
- Moderate griefing
- Breaking academic integrity
- Sharing private info
3-strike offenses ❌❌❌
- Major griefing
- Major harassment
Perma-ban offenses (handled case-by case)
- Most real-life crimes
Severity Criteria
An offense is considered minor, moderate, or major depending on how many of the following criteria are met. If it happens, it’s at least minor, one criteria is moderate, two is major.
Harassment
- Discriminatory
- Repeated
- Sexual
- Targeted
Griefing
- Large-scale
- Targets spawn
- Destructive
- Difficult to remove (more than about an hour of work)
Swearing
- Is a slur
- Obscene
- Repeated
Note on the difference between pranks and harassment
To allow for room for pranks and practical jokes, something may be deemed to be a prank or harmless if it fits three or more of these characteristics, and would otherwise only be a one-strike offense.
- High effort
- Creative
- Between friends
- Easily undoable
All previous bans and punishments have been removed, fresh start.

Appeals
Appeals should be sent to grant.preisz@csd117.org
Appeals should explain (with evidence!):
- Why the punishment was incorrectly administered and/or
- How you’ve made amends with the affected players and corrected your mistake
